Satan sought to destroy the agency of man.
"And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat"

Notes

It would seem plausible that the word agency, as used in scripture, implies that we act as agents. It could be argued that we act as free agents, because it is our own salvation that we are working out and we are not initially aware of any permanent external responsibilities, or that we are acting as agents for Christ, because he has redeemed us, owns us, and has delegated responsibilities to us in the Premortal Existence. I would currently imagine that the difference is immaterial.
