- When a woman's son is protected from danger by becoming trapped in a thorny bush, it provides cause for her to reflect on how we sometimes run about ignorantly and are often protected from great dangers by obstacles that might cause us great discomfort. As she was grateful that her son was trapped in the thorns rather than suffering greater harm, we too may have reason to be thankful for our trials and afflictions.
