- 19-25) Zillah is barren because of drinking something that was intentionally given to her so that she would not become pregnant so that she would retain her figure. However, in her old age, she becomes pregnant and bears two children.
- 26-33) Slays Cain, when Lamech was already old; mistaken for an animal. Also slays his son Tubal-cain when mad with grief. Lamech's wives hate him.
- 34-36) Lamech succeeds in winning his wives back by explaining that he is old and killed unknowningly.
