- The Americas are a land consecrated for those whom the Lord will lead there. It shall be a land of liberty which shall never be brought down into captivity unless the people fall into iniquity. "for if iniquity shall abound cursed shall be the land for their sakes, but unto the righteous it shall be blessed forever."
- "Wherefore, this people shall keep my commandments, saith the Lord of Hosts, or cursed be the land for their sakes."
- It is worth noting that here, Jacob has been preaching about the need for keeping the Law of Chastity, and about how seeking after multiple wives and concubines is generally an evil, though polygamy is permissible when commanded by God.
