In wordplay, I have found Anti appears to connect to the idea of a friend. (But possibly also something like comrade.)
One derivation I can imagine, is that it relates to the Ugaritic "ummatu". (This idea derives from the idea that the word might have derived from a word for a group, as a way to express "we are of a shared group".) The root is aleph-mem-mem, with a feminine -t suffix. The idea is that we have a early Hebrew word not in evidence, "umti" meaning "my clan" or "my clansman", and that the -t suffix pushed the labial 'm' to a dentate 'n' resulting in "anti", literally "my clansman", as a way to say "my friend" or just "friend".
This idea similarly suggests aleph-nun-nun with a feminine ending going through a similar process, with the basic meaning of "my comfort" becoming a word for "friend".
When I get a moment, I will run through the various "anti" words in Nephite Hebrew and describe what is suggested by their usage.
I am not aware of any evidence of this word existing prior to Mosiah. Therefore I posit that this word is distinctly Middle Nephite.

Appears to be alluding to Anti-Nephi-Lehi as a counterpoint in a chiasm. Might mean "friend of wealth", but ironically also "friend of the poor", or "friend of affliction", or "friend of pleasantness", depending on if one uses aleph-nun-mem, or ayin-nun-mem, or ayin-nun-vav/yod, with the mem being added as a pluralization.
